The IR/NS system provides a single backbone (Vision 21) that integrates SigCom's alarm reporting and emergency voice alarm communication equipment with our wide area personnel notification equipment. Engineered IR/NS systems include critical elements of a Mass Notification System in compliance with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC 4-021-01) as set down by the Department of Defense. The system meets the stringent requirements set forth for fire protection systems as well as the specific requirements set forth by the U.S. Military for security and force protection applications. The fully integrated approach reduces the incidence of complications associated with multiple independent systems. Alarm conditions from fire alarm panels, security alarm panels, gas or radiation monitoring sensors, manual activating devices etc., are transmitted by one of SigCom's Alarm Transceivers. The transceiver sends the information back to SigCom's Vision 21 System Processor, either by radio or fiber optic signal. Alarm transceiver options include the User-Powered Alarm Box, model 8MTJ-A-16 Radio Alarm Box or our state-of-the-art DTX Series Alarm Transceiver. The Vision 21 system processor displays and prints all alarm and incident information at a central command center. The information can be sent to an external computer aided dispatch software package, such as SigCom's Rapid Response. The operator has the option to initiate transmission of command signals back to the transceivers. These commands can trip control remote operations, activate a DVS Emergency Voice Alarm panel, activate lights and strobes, initiate variable message signs, etc.
